Olympus - National Park
Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece, home to the twelve gods of antiquity, is renowned all over the world for its ecological features and unique natural beauty, as well as its connection to ancient Greek mythology.
This charm gave the Greeks the idea to house their 12 gods on Mount Olympus and to establish Dion, at the foot of the mountain, a city dedicated to the king of the gods and today one of the largest and best-preserved archaeological sites.
Thousands of years have passed, and those gods have passed, but ascending Olympus continues to be a unique experience. Until one reaches Mytika, its highest peak that reaches 2,918 meters in height, many interesting paths are crossed. The easiest routes start from Litochoro, a modern town at the foot of the mountain and just 5 km from the sea and the Athens-Thessaloniki national road.
Fly on a paraglider, walk on its paths, drink a fragrant tea made of local herbs in the beautiful villages, such as Litochoro, Palaios Panteleimonas, Karya, Ambalekia and enjoy the Mediterranean way of life. Here, people enjoy nature in the mountains and at the sea, all year round.
